About the role
QMUL is seeking to appoint a Capital Projects Health & Safety Manager to champion health and safety excellence across the University’s £multi-million portfolio of estate development projects. The University has bold ambitions over the next decade that will see QMUL grow and advance significantly as a leading research and teaching institution globally. This includes growth of student numbers in London by circa 10,000 (headcount) with c. 70,000m2 of the estate to be developed by 2030 through the delivery of several interdependent major capital projects. Within the Estates and Facilities Directorate the Capital Projects team are responsible for the Master Planning and Development of all campuses forming the QMUL estate. The team manage a large-scale capital programme from inception to completion, delivering projects on budget, on programme and to a high standard of quality. The Capital Projects Health & Safety Manager will champion health and safety excellence and provide professional health and safety guidance for QMUL’s construction, refurbishment, alteration and engineering projects and will ensure that QMUL fully complies with all statutory duties imposed under the umbrella of construction health and safety, specifically the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.
