Jacqueline Xavier is the Chief Operating Officer of Black Butterflies, LLC. In 2014 as a co-founder of the Black Butterflies, she took to the helm of the initial training of six recovering women, who aspired to become seamstress. She has used her many skills and abilities to nurture and educate the women to become proficient sewers and productive employees. She wears many hats in her role as Chief Operating Officer; she is a mentor, a friend, an advisor, and a cook. In each of these roles she has help to weave a supportive network for the women in the project. Jacqueline Xavier

Jacqueline Xavier was born in Trinidad, West Indies. As a child In Trinidad the values of sharing and giving back were instilled by her parents.This being a common trait of islanders. In 1970 she moved with her family to Cleveland, Ohio. She attended Cleveland State & Kent State University. She had an enjoyable career as a Special Ed teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School until she retired. She has maintained and continues to mentor former students and young adults. She is now enjoying her role as a leader with Black Butterflies. She has always enjoyed sewing even as a child, now she is immersed in the role as a teacher & mentor with Black Butterflies.
