Instructions for: How to press ceramic mugs in a mug press

1 | P a g e

1. You will set the pressure first before you switch on the press. To do this, insert the correct size ceramic mug into the press. This is the mug you will use to heat the press as well.

2. It's best to have an old mug, that you will always use to heat your press before you start pressing. Wrap a blank piece of normal copy paper around the old mug and use this mug, over and over again to set the pressure and heat the press.

3. When the mug press closes nicely and firmly the pressure is correct.

4. Remember to keep the mug inside the press when you switch on the press or heat the press. Now, you can switch on the press.

5. Set the temperature to 190°C and 4minute (240seconds) 6. While the press is heating up, prepare the mugs that you will Sublimate on. 7. Cut out your print and secure it firmly to the mug, with heat tape underneath the ear/handle of the mug.

8. When the press is ready, remove the mug that you have used to heat the press, replace it with the one with the print, and then press it for 4 minutes.

9. When time is up, switch off the press, take out the mug, and place it into lukewarm water. Remove the print.

WARNING and IMPORTANT to note:

- Do not heat the mug press without the correct size/type of mug inside. - For a bigger quantity of mugs you need to press, make sure you switch the press off to cool down after every 10 mugs. - When the printing is just finished and the element is still hot. You can put in a mug to absorb the heat, which can extend the lifespan of the element.
