Studying at CMU provided me with a unique blend of technology-focused disciplines alongside management, humanities and social sciences. The curriculum equipped me with cutting-edge technical skills and the information tools to effectively engage with non- technical stakeholders who rely on the systems my team develops and supports.

Richard K. Glave earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Information Systems (IS) Program at the Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences in 1989. He credits his education at CMU as foundational to his success, especially in his current role as the executive director of IT Infrastructure Support and Security for the New York City Department of Buildings. Mr. Glave designated the Information Systems Program as the beneficiary of a portion of his retirement fund to create a long-lasting legacy, one that will support scholarships for underrepresented undergraduate IS students. This type of tax- smart gift is easy to arrange and allows him to support the people and organizations that have made an impact on his life.

Mr. Glave worked with the CMU Office of Gift Planning to make his charitable goals a reality. His gift, once established, will support students year after year.
