Port Charlotte Public Library
Englewood Charlotte Library Chef Warren is back with a cooking demonstration about ‘Beef, It’s What’s for Dinner’ with samples for all. Our quilters are staying busy finishing up some holiday projects. Miss Holly and some families worked together on a fun fall craft. The Third Wednesday Book Club had a nice crowd discussing the classic ‘Madame Bovary’; some folks may not have made it through the book but they watched the movie 😊 . Charles and our intern, Jesse, talked with folks from the Englewood East Community Association about some technology tips and tricks.
Our Wednesday Homeschool Hangout group explored the science of sounds with dancing rice and a blast from the past. We learned that sounds are caused by vibrations that travel through waves, and they travel better through solid objects instead of empty air. Our turkey telephones helped us understand how landline phones worked before our kiddos were born, and some couldn’t wait to try a rotary phone for their next homeschool project! Dog Tales Afterschool featured our kids’ favorite pooches and a new team of pet partners, Emily and her golden retriever Dutton. Saturday was busy with Tunes for Tots followed by a local author story time and craft hour, and finally LEGO Club.
