PittsburghHS student wins scholarship inNational Comp. ACEMentorProgramorganizes $400k scholarship program

ITTSBURGH, PA — Lauren Jasper , a se- nior at The Ellis School, is one of 25 students nation- wide to receive an award in a new $400,000 scholarship program organized by the ACE Mentor Program of America . The CMiC —Allen Berg Memorial Scholarships are worth between $10,000 and $40,000. They are named in honor of the late founder of the construction management software company CMiC and are intended to assist talented and deserving students plan- ning to study architecture, engineering or construction in college. ACE (Architecture, Con- struction, and Engineering) is a free afterschool program created by the integrated construction industry to at- tract students into pursu- ing industry-related careers. Jasper has participated for 4 years in the program run by ACE’s Western PA affiliate. “I have watched Lauren blossom through the past 4 years. Now, as a senior, she is a leader within her group and making every effort to succeed.” said Anastasia Dubnicay , executive director of Western PA ACE affiliate’s board and Lead Mentor. “I cannot wait to watch her grow in our industry and eventually work with her as a peer.” As a sophomore she was accepted to the Falling Water design studio, and this year, she led her team to design and submit in the CIRT national ACE competition. In addition to the $10,000 that Lauren won with the CMiC scholar- ship, she also won a $5,000

scholarship through the local Western PA affiliate. Jasper is headed to Cornell University this fall where she will study architecture. Jasper and the other 24 scholarship winners received their awards at ACE’s 25th Anniversary Celebration in Washington, DC on May 14. ACE of Western PA is cur- rently accepting students for the 2019-2020 year. Please email for more information regarding this FREE program.
