Boosted by a fast-growing economy and pro-business reforms, Saudi Arabia is on track to become among the world’s most important markets for tourism and leisure as part of its overarching strategy to diversify the economy and improve its non-oil business activity. Tourism is currently on a growth spree on the back of $1 trillion in investment in the tourism sector spread over 10 years under the National Tourism Strategy. By 2030, tourism will make up the country’s second-largest income source, contributing 10% of its gross domestic product (GDP) and generating more than 1.6 million jobs.
