Get Involved with Prostate Cancer Awareness Month 2023! September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, which brings the national spotlight to the disease, highlighting the vital need for awareness and education on early detection. ZERO’s theme for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (PCAM) is simple yet impactful: early detection saves lives.
Here are some exciting PCAM activities that will take place throughout September:
- Donations will be doubled throughout the month of September! - “Am I At Risk?” Quiz: this quiz will help men assess if they are at risk for prostate cancer - and to learn more about risk factors - ZERO Prostate Cancer Day: September 28th is our largest annual giving day! ZERO also - announces the winner of the 2023 Prostate Cancer Month Impact Award - PCAM Events: there are more than 20 Run/Walks across the country, screenings in the - Prostate Cancer in the Black Community Film Series, an educational event in Miami, and - a special Facebook Live on What’s New in PSMA PET Imaging
Our goal is to educate men and their families about prostate cancer risk factors, encourage screening, and elevate overall disease awareness. If you are interested in getting involved in our PCAM activities, reach out to Jess at jessica@zerocancer.org and check out our Social Media Toolkit attached in the email!
ZERO360 Impact Updates ZERO360 continues to be a critically important patient support program and demand continues to rise as we see our second quarterly metrics from 2023. In June, we assisted 127 new patients, bringing our year-to-date total of new cases to almost 900. Since the inception of ZERO360, we have served a little more than 5,000 patients. The need for debt relief due to medical expenses continues to grow. Our caseworkers are hard at work assisting our patients with insurance navigation, specifically with Medicare. As of June, we have obtained over $140,000 in debt relief for our patients and this year we have obtained almost $1,000,000 in debt relief.
Support for ZERO360 is needed now more than ever and your contributions are vital to helping meet unmet patient needs. If you are interested in supporting ZERO360, please email jessica@zerocancer.org.
