MEET OUR NEW MEXICO WHOLESALER! WHY BODYBUILDER DAN VALDEZ SWEARS BY — AND SELLS — OH!MINO
Do you remember the story of Dr. John Micaletti, the periodontist/bodybuilder who wants to share Oh!mino with his patients? Well, it’s thanks to John that our product made its way into the hands of another awesome bodybuilder: Dan Valdez. Dan is a single dad who has participated in bodybuilding competitions in New Mexico and beyond for the last six years. His specialty is the classic physique division. He loves the sport partly because it sets a great example for his sons, 13-year-old Jadin and 11-year-old Paxtin. “It shows them not only work ethic, but also dedication to something you enjoy and what it looks like to give that the full force of your effort,” Dan says. John introduced Dan to Oh!mino when he was cutting for a competition.
Dan wanted to retain muscle while he depleted his body fat, and our product was the perfect replacement for his usual BCAAs and EAAs. “I realized that using Oh!mino, I was able to stay fuller and bigger — every year before that when I cut, I looked like I was 12 [at the end]!” he jokes. Dan quickly incorporated Oh!mino into his daily routine. He loves the science- backed formula and says that even when he isn’t cutting, using it keeps his energy balanced. One of the most amazing things about Dan is that on top of being a dad and a bodybuilder, he’s also an entrepreneur! He co-owns Pure Muscle Nutrition, a vitamin and supplement shop in Albuquerque (@pure.muscle.nutrition on Instagram). When they opened, Dan reached out to us and asked to become an Oh!mino
wholesaler. We said, “Yes!” Today, he sells Oh!mino to customers ranging from bodybuilders to “everyday joes” who are trying to improve their physiques. “Customers ask about my personal experience, and I give it to them and share with them what I’ve used and what I like,” Dan says. “Obviously, Oh!mino is one of the baselines every single time. Everyone loves and enjoys it, and they keep coming back for it.” Want to hear clients rave about your recommendations? Set up a meeting with Michael at Calendly.com/ MMaynard/Professional-Calls to talk about becoming an Oh!mino wholesaler.
BY GOING BACK TO SCHOOL STAY SHARP AS YOU AGE
learning entirely new-to-them subjects, like how to speak a foreign language, use a new piece of technology, or make art. Convinced of the benefits but not sure where to turn to learn? Try these two sources. Most colleges are designed with the traditional, 20-something college student in mind, which may not appeal or be a great fit for adults in their 50s, 60s, and beyond. But many universities are starting to cater to an older crowd with lifelong learning programs. One example is the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Washington (UW). UW’s program offers a full course schedule on subjects in the arts, sciences, and current events taught by qualified faculty and provided at an affordable rate. There are over 100 such programs at universities across the U.S. Have a longtime dream to write children’s books? UC San Diego Extension has a certificate program for that! If you’re looking to dive into a single subject or perhaps you’d like to continue working in retirement or shift gears later in your career, certificate programs are a great option. No previous education is required. Most certificate programs are open to all, typically run for less than a year, and easily accommodate part-time learners. Celebrate your years of hard-earned wisdom but commit to keeping your brain young by going back to school this fall.
While you may be happy for the years of wisdom you’ve gained since being in your 20s and 30s, you might be missing the mental sharpness you once had. Why not have the best of both worlds? Scientists have found that the human brain changes with age — neurons fire more slowly, for example, and short-term memory recall can be more challenging — but that we often underestimate our capacity to continue learning as we grow older. Negative stereotypes about aging can reinforce these beliefs. However, new research is showing that older adults who’ve committed to immersive study of a new subject show brain function akin to someone 30 years younger. This goes beyond the tired advice to do a crossword puzzle or work a sudoku puzzle every day. The participants in this research study were
