THE KING’S BUSINESS

the little prayer that had been used so often might now be honored in bringing father and son to the place where they could with confidence call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Then he taught them the little prayer and they repeated it after him and he then followed it with the words of instruction from the Word of God.- "Do you now receive Jesus Christ as your 'Savior, believing what He said, “As many as received Him to them gave he the right to be called the Sons of God, even to them that believed on His name.” They an swered, “Yes.” “Will you thus stand on His Word for your eternal salvation?” They answered, “Yes.” “Do you believe now that you are Sons of God by faith in Christ Jesus?” “We do.” “Then, since you have received the greatest gift in the world, that of God’s well-beloved Son, let’s thank Him for the gift, for Christ, and for the salvation that is come to your heart.” The father prayed and said, “O God, I wish I had a better education so that I could tell you in words of the gratitude in my heart in saving my poor soul tonight, but you know just exactly what I want to say, and I do thank You, O God, and Jesus Christ, who died to save me and has ac cepted me as I have accepted Him. Help me to live before my family and before the men at the iron works so that others may know Jesus through my testimony of my life.” Between his broken sentences he shed tears of joy, and then the son joined in and commenced to thank God for the salvation that had come to his heart. Then Mr. Lewis said to the other son: “Now, you confessing your sidestepping, will you now join with your mother, who has been a faithful witness in this home for God all these years and with the father and your brother and myself in dedicating our lives to God, and this home and even the table around which we sat tonight, so that some weary, sin-sick, heavy-laden and bur

dened soul might find rest here and get ac quainted with the same Lord who has to night met you ?” He said, “I do.” Then they all had another word of prayer and as they arose from their knees, the father gripped the worker’s hand and said, “Thank you for coming.” “Now, no doubt we will have a battle, and what shall we do to stand?” Mr. Lewis replied, “Study the word, pray and witness for God immedi ately among your friends. Keep on wit nessing, and when you ever come to the place where you are sorely tempted and tried, and even if you do slip, you manage to slip with your face towards Jesus Christ.” Mr, Lewis had borrowed a Scofield Bible from the I nstitute B ook R oom , having left his Bible at home, and the father in sisted on buying the Bible then and there. Seeing him a few days later the father stated, "Our home is an entirely different one. The life of my stepson is entirely changed and each evening I take down the Bible and read it and then each of us leads in prayer.” He then handed Mr. Lewis 50c for the Prophetic Conference, then in ses sion. I thank you on behalf of the boys at the Rolling Mill for your kindness in taking Mr. Lewis’ place at the meetings during his absence. We have found in you a wise counsellor and an excellent instructor in the work for Jesus Christ our Lord. You will always be remembered by the boys with feelings of the highest regard and esteem. With love from the boys, I am, Yours sincerely, T h e S h o p M en . Los Angeles, Cal., March 12, 1914. A Letter of Appreciation. Ms. A lbekt S eigle , Care Bible Institute. Dear Brother Seigle:
