ful, kind, loving, sincere, and natural in these contacts for Christ. Concern ing the unsaved, Paul said, “I am made all things to all men, that I might by all means save some” (1 Cor. 9:22). If every Christian followed this ex ample, what a change there would be on the part of worldlings to the mes sage proclaimed by God’s people! —Milo F. Jamison. Manifold Grace “That in every thing ye are enriched by him” (1 Cor. 1:5). “ G o o d stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Pet. 4:10). The “manifold grace of God” means variegated. It is not a question of quantity, nor of quality, but rather of variety. Joseph Parker says, “Every man has received the gift, therefore let him minister the same; let all the world see how variqgated in charm and hue is the total grace or gift of God. The holders of the variegated grace of God are only stewards.” —Selected. 7. A Thankful Spirit “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (Jas. 1:17). Cultivate the thankful spirit. It will be to thee a perpetual feast. There ought to be with us no such thing as small mercies; all are great because the least are undeserved. Indeed, a really thankful heart will extract mo tive for gratitude f r o m everything, making the most even of scanty bless ings.—J. R. MacDuff. 8. Divine Necessities “He t h a t winneth souls is wise” (Prov. 11:30). God needs eyes open to the needs of souls; He needs ears open to the cries of the lost; He needs feet no longer slow to go into the byways and urge men and women to come in. He needs hands no longer weak. Are yours? When you stand before God on that Day, will there be souls to lay at His feet?—Christian Action. 9. The Open Bible “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that ' I might not sin against thee” (Psa. 119:11). I prayed for faith, and thought that some day faith would come down arid strike me like lightning; but faith did not seem to come. One day I read in the tenth chapter of Romans, “Now faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” I had closed my Bible, and prayed for faith. I now 6.

2. Confidence for Today “Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath pre pared for them that love him” (1 Cor. 2:9). God will develop His plan for us at the right time. Surely the joint heirs with Him will reign and enjoy the best of all thing's when the \ King comes backhand meantime, He “hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings” so that we can experience a present life of triumph, if w.e will pay the price of wholly following the Lord. Have you caught the precious words: “What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter” ? —Gospel Herald. 3. Keeping Fit “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God” (Rom. 12:1). The consecration of thè body is de manded for its welfare. To keep the body at its best we must keep it at God’s disposal. It is the sanctuary of the Holy Spirit. It has been bought by atoning blood, for our bodies as well as our souls are redeemed by Christ. And it can be so used for the glory of God that its usefulness will insure its fitness. —Florida Baptist Witness. 4. God in Unlikely Places "And the Lord said . . . in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee” (Ex. 20:22, 24). Often in the life of a Christian thick darkness covers all circum stances, apparently. However, the most precious spiritual lessons learned by the children of God are not acquired when the path is all sunshiny, but when financial or physical tests, soul suffering, and heartbreaking experi ences sweep down upon them like some great cloud of complete disaster. If they stay by, they will hear God speak ing.—Pameii. 5. Cultivation with a Purpose “Come, ‘ and let us declare. . . the w o r k of the Lord our God” (Jer. 51:10). For those who are unsaved, we go out of our way to perform some kind ly deed, or to present some positive word of testimony in the endeavor to cultivate their friendship, and to win them to the Lord. We should be tact
