Melanie Anthony Senior Director of Marketing & Development, REI Oklahoma

Melanie Anthony is the senior director of marketing and development at REI Oklahoma, an economic development nonprofit serving all of Oklahoma. She has 25 years of experience working in Oklahoma’s nonprofit sector, from food insecurity, youth experiencing homelessness and a broad range of health and social service issues including disaster response. She began her career at the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, then joined the teams at Pivot – A Turning Point for Youth and United Way of Central Oklahoma. Melanie attended college at Oklahoma State University.

David Castillo President and CEO, Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

David Castillo has served as the president & CEO of The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce for the past 18 years. He was a teacher for 15 years and has been a business owner in OKC for the past 30 years. David served on the Oklahoma City Public School Board for eight years and is the first Hispanic to serve as an elected official in Oklahoma City. David received a Bachelor of Science at the University of Central Oklahoma.

Joseph Laws Program Manager, The Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City Joseph Laws is a program manager at the Alliance for Economic Development of Oklahoma City. He holds a Master of Regional and City Planning and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Oklahoma. Previously, Joe worked for a homelessness and housing nonprofit in Boston and an education nonprofit in New York City. Outside of work, Joe serves as a field artillery officer in the Oklahoma Army National Guard. Jabar Shumate Vice President of Community Convening & Social Justice, Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City Jabar Shumate serves as the vice president for Community Convening and Social Justice at the Urban League of Greater Oklahoma City. Jabar has executive level career experiences in non-profit management and development, public policy, higher education, and common education. As a former member of the Oklahoma legislature serving in both the state house and senate for more than 11 years, he worked extensively on issues of inclusion, economic development, and equity. As a non-profit executive and diversity practitioner, Jabar developed a unique partnership between the Oklahoma City Chamber and the Urban League which focuses on inclusive economic development and leadership.
