WELCOME TO The AHL Insider
As we kick off 2026, it’s clear that AHL is starting the year with incredible momentum. January and February have already brought meaningful milestones, strong collaboration across teams, and continued growth in a market that continues to challenge the industry as a whole. Together, we’ve accomplished something truly remarkable, funding a total of 4,690 units for an impressive $1,492,664,929 in 2025. These numbers reflect more than production; they represent teamwork, dedication, innovation, and the collective effort each and every department working together to support our partners and borrowers. This edition of the AHL Insider highlights just a few of the ways we’re building on that momentum, from sales kickoff conversations and new initiatives, to culture moments, creativity, and the people who continue to make AHL a special place to grow. Thank you for the energy, focus, and commitment you bring every day. If the start of 2026 is any indication, we’re just getting started.

IT Mission control
Shutdown vs. Restart Shutdown: Turns your computer completely off. Best when you’re done for the day. Restart: Turns your computer off and back on to refresh it, clearing temporary memory and background issues. Best when things feel slow, frozen, or after updates. Quick Tip: If something isn’t working right, try a restart first. It often fixes small issues faster than shutting down.
Why? Modern computers don’t always fully reset everything during a shutdown, but a restart forces a clean refresh.
New OptifiNow Enhancements: Last Dial Date and Dial Count is now reflected on the Leads & Contacts listing pages, making it easier to see the last time an AE called a broker or if they’ve never called them at all. SMS is now live, AEs can now send a follow up text message to a broker within OptifiNow. Indicator showing if a broker/LO also has broker portal credentials.
Olympic Style One of our AHL teammates has a pretty unforgettable Olympic connection. At just 13 years old, they were selected from a company-wide raffle of over 1,000 entries to carry the Olympic relay torch for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Carmel, CA. They ran a .6-mile leg of the relay with an escort alongside to keep the torch safely away (turns out holding it steady was the hardest part!). It’s a true once-in-a-lifetime moment—and yes, we even have photos to prove it. Think you know who it was? Cast your guess here. Have a fun or unexpected story of your own? We’d love to feature it in a future edition of Guess Who ! 📩 Send your story to ahlculture@ahlend.com.
Huge shout-out to Jamie Marquez , who completed her first-ever 5K run. No months of training. No overthinking it.
“It was my first time. My friend (Haiphie Hua) called me on Saturday morning asking if I wanted to run a 5K
spontaneous, so I said yes. The weather was perfect and so was the after-race beer! 🍺 And now the algorithm on my IG is all running and marathons. 🏃♀️ 🤣 ” on Sunday. I was hesitant as I do not like running but love
NEW PROGRAM SPOTLIGHT: Cannabis Income As lending guidelines continue to evolve, American Heritage Lending is excited to introduce our Cannabis Income Program now available for TPO, designed to help brokers serve a growing, financially stable workforce in legalized markets. While cannabis is legal at the state level in many areas, borrowers in this space have historically faced limited financing options. This program helps close that gap.
We asked the AHL team to come up with fun, totally unserious marketing slogans for Cannabis Income. These will never see the light of day with brokers, but they did give us a good laugh.
A lender in weed is a lender indeed. Michael Moss
No smoke. Just funding. Munchies not included. Larry Ulsh
Smoke the competition and Reefer to the Cannabis Income. Joseph Britton
It’s 4:19 ... you got a minute? Jamie Marquez
Don’t get BURNED OUT with HIGH rates! Greg Borgogna
Big News: The AHL Broker Tool Kit Is LIVE !
We’re excited to officially roll out the new AHL Broker Tool Kit on the TPO website, and this one’s a game changer for our brokers and our AHL team. This all-in-one resource hub was built to make it easier than ever for brokers to promote AHL, educate borrowers, and move deals forward—fast. This powerful tool is geared toward brokers, real estate agents, and even general leads.
What’s inside the Tool Kit? New DSCR , Bridge and Asset Qualifier calculators to help brokers quickly illustrate scenarios and pre-qualify borrowers with confidence Life of a loan at AHL (check it out) Brand Builder (the star of the show!) We currently offer flyer on LON but now anyone can use this feature, not just an approved broker Enhanced feature allows them to upload their logo and headshot now There’s no login required, and once someone enters their info, it’s saved, making future flyer customization quick and easy. This is tied to OptfiNow (TPO CRM) that will scrub the database, update the lead or contact records and notify the Account Executive of what flyer they downloaded. If they are not in the system, we just received a new lead, and an Account Executive is assigned to follow up with them.
340 flyers downloaded just the first WEEK alone
Why This Matters SALES : This gives AEs a powerful new way to help brokers market themselves immediately. OPERATIONS : Clear calculators and consistent marketing materials help set expectations upfront, leading to better-prepared files and smoother loan flow. Win-win. MARKETING : Brand Builder ensures our messaging stays on-brand while still giving brokers the flexibility to personalize.
TPO Operations “I had the honor to be part of the first ever TPO Sales Meeting in January. It was really great to meet the sales team members I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting in person! As we continue to be better and find ways to support our TPO partners, I was excited to introduce new products to the team and to provide a very high level overview of Correspondent Lending, for which we are seeing continued interest. Speaking of Correspondent, we purchased 33 loans for $10mm in January. Kudos to Sheri, Jonathon and Marybeth who work the non- delegated loans on the front end, and to Abida, Bev and Lory who get them through on the back end! I have approved new Correspondents in January and participated in new correspondent introductory calls with our sales team. We have so much opportunity working with emerging mortgage bankers and non-delegated correspondents and are really good at hand holding and helping them be successful! Our team continues to work very hard to close loans. Our set up/ services team consistently sets up loans within 48 hours and are the first set of eyes on a file. Their responsibilities go beyond getting the loan in the system as they run so many services, not only at the time of set up but also during the manufacturing of the loan. Many of the team also assist with Client Support Inquiries. Our Account Managers continue to look to provide the best in class service. Vicky Bergquist was our leader in loans funded in January with also attaining a super high Net Promoter Score! With Justin’s help, we are working on refining our process flow to help move loans along faster and easier. The TPO Ops team is All In!” - Jackie Weed, EVP, Operations TPO Division AHL TPO Sales Kickoff – Irvine, CA On January 20, AHL held its first TPO Sales Kickoff Meeting in Irvine, CA, bringing the team together for an informative and forward-looking session. Presenters from Operations , IT , and Marketing shared key 2025 milestones and highlighted 2026 initiatives designed to support Sales and continued growth. The meeting also included a panel discussion on the day-to- day life of a successful Account Executive, along with John Colitz, who shared insights on the Bridge Star program and how it can be leveraged in today’s market. 🎥 A recording of the meeting is available for anyone interested in watching or revisiting the content.
