On behalf of the Ministry of Transportation of Ontario, Ferrovial Services North America intends to utilize Wagar & Corput Weed Control Inc. to control noxious weeds along rural roads including guardrails, posts and roadsides along the following Provincial Highways. List of Highways to be sprayed are as follows. Provincial Highway 17. Will be sprayed from Provincial Highway 508 to Forest Lea Road, Provincial Highway 148 will be sprayed from Robinson Lane to Quebec Border. Provincial Highway 34 will be sprayed from Provincial Highway 417 to Old Highway 17. Old Highway 17 will be sprayed from County Rd. 29 to County Rd. 20. The contractor will be using: Credit Xtreme Herbicide (PCP #29888) active ingredients Glysophate (present as isopropylamine and potassium salt), Arsenal Powerline Herbicide (PCP #30203) active ingredient Imazapyr (present as the isopropylamine salt), Clearview Herbicide (PCP# 29752) active ingredients Metsulfuron-methyl and Aminopyralid (present as potassium salt) and Gateway Adjuvant (PCP #31470) active ingredient Paraffinic Oil and Alkoxylated alcohol non-ionic surfactants under the Pest Control Product Act (Canada). This pesticide use falls under the exception to the cosmetic pesticide ban mentioned in subsection 7.1 (2) of the Pesticides Act for uses related to the promotion of public health and safety.
