Another King’s family with entrepreneurial spirit are the Aylands, who run the award-winning business Completely Motoring. Founded in 2009 by Rob Ayland, sons James, Charlie and George, all joined the firm after completing their studies at King’s Sixth Form. In 2014, James started a new division of the business Completely Motorbikes, citing lessons he learned at King’s for giving him the courage to make the move. ''My time at King’s gave me the confidence to progress directly into our family business and the ability to adapt in a fluid environment,” he said. The family has now expanded to six dealerships across Gloucestershire and Worcestershire, with the introduction of Yamaha Motorcycles. It’s not just those who already have a passion for business who thrive at King’s. Hal Woodward was one of the pupils to complete his A-Level studies at the school in 2019.

He had been unsure what career path to take at 16, but said that all changed when he started Sixth Form. “I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do as a future career and then I started A-level Business Studies with Mr Butler and Mr Lloyd and it all just clicked,” he said. “They taught us how to be independent learners and used our classroom time to verify what we had learned. “The thing I enjoyed most was all the trips to see how real businesses operated.” Since receiving his A-Level results, Hal has gone on to secure a competitive business apprenticeship with Kohler Mira.
