Aerospace firm is one of a trio of firms to touch down in Gloucester
As you read these words, staff from one of Gloucestershire’s aerospace legends should be landing at a new headquarters on one of the county's prime business hot spot. And close by, two other major firms remain in holding positions, at different stages of being able to reveal their own new multi-million pound premises. GE Aviation-owned Dowty Propellors emerged as one of those circling Gloucestershire Business Park in Brockworth in June 2018, when the firm came clean about its plans. Work then began inNovember and seniormanagement and staff of the business, which is currently based at Vantage Point Business Village in Mitcheldean, posed for a picture to mark the occasion.
“Our investment in the new facility demonstrates our commitment to the future of Dowty Propellers and the future potential of our people and products," said Dowty president Oliver Towers, at the site ground breaking ceremony. “This new facility will allow us to operate in a bespoke environment that ensures we continue our position as a world leader in the design, development, manufacture and support of electronically controlled, all-composite propeller systems.” It is such a significant move that at the time, Richard Harrington, then aerospace minister, called the announcement “another vote of confidence in the UK's world-class aerospace manufacturing and engineering industry”. “Dowty's new facility will pioneer technologies
