for both civil and military aircraft and this decision shows how our modern Industrial Strategy is ensuring the UK remains a hub for high-skilled work and technology both now and in the future,” he said. Close to the site, is the second factory for motor industry giant G-TEKT Europe, which makes car body parts for the likes of Honda and BMW. Its new £20 million base, announced pre-Brexit, marks an expansion for the business. It is understood that, as well as the Gloucester Business Park factory, the company, part of G-Tem, is also building a plant in Slovakia, which will support Jaguar Land Rover's new European production. Both factories are expected to be operational later this year. G-Tekt Europe Manufacturing Ltd (G-Tem) is a subsidiary of G-Tekt Corporation and an affiliate of Honda Motor Company Japan. Its Gloucester facility was established in 1996 and has seen £100 million investment to date. Its current factory hosts 300 industrial robots and it classes itself as one of the European leaders in the automotive sector. And then just a little further away, but still on the park, is the building of Ecclesiastical Insurance's new headquarters, which will see the business and its 550 staff move out of its city centre base. Tewkesbury Borough Council approved plans submitted by Arlington, owner of Gloucester Business Park, for the insurance firm’s new building earlier this year.
It brought to an end years of speculation about a new headquarters. Mark Hews, group chief executive of Ecclesiastical Insurance, said: "This is an exciting moment for us in the delivery of our long-term ambitions. The new site will provide modern accommodation for our colleagues, providing them with an environment where they can thrive. "As one of the county's biggest employers, we want to commit our future to Gloucestershire and we will maintain our strong links to Gloucester through our numerous partnerships and charitable projects." The new office will be able to accommodate all of the specialist insurance and financial services company's employees. Ecclesiastical has been based in Gloucester since the 1970s, and has underlined that it intends to maintain its "strong links" with the city. Work on its new site can be seen in the far right of the image on this page. It expects its new offices to be completed during 2020, with the move taking place before the end of that year. The story as to how Dowty Propellers came to consider Arlington's Gloucester Business Park goes back to the devastating fire in February 2015 when a fire destroyed its headquarters and blade manufacturing facility in Staverton. It underlined its commitment to the county in 2017, but it has taken until now to find a site and build its new base l Please contact: Kirsten Compton , Associate Solicitor 01452 689161 | kirsten.compton@daviesandpartners.com Justin Crosfield , Senior Solicitor 01452 689162 | justin.crosfield@daviesandpartners.com Ewan Kilgour , Head of Commercial Property 01454 611355 | ewan.kilgour@daviesandpartners.com Please ontact: Kirsten Compton , Associate Solicitor 01452 89161 | kirsten.compton@daviesandpartners.com Justin Crosfi ld , Sen or Solicitor 01452 89162 | justin.crosfield@daviesandpartners.com Ewan Kilgour , Head of Comme cial Property 01454 611355 | ewan.kilgour@daviesandpartners.com
