These will include Changing Places facilities for people with physical disabilities or who need special equipment or more space to use the toilet easily. Earlier in the summer, the council secured permission to demolish the Bruton Way multi-storey car park and Bentick House and the part demolition of
Grosvenor House. Planning permission was also granted for the permanent citing of a new video screen that will sit on the King’s Square-facing wall of The Chambers pub. The screen will remain in situ when The Chambers building, officially called King’s House, is redeveloped into what will become a food hall, creative hub and event space.
