Half-a-century of expertise ensures it’s the right fit for Barnwood Group
An increase in retail and commercial interior projects, thanks to decades of experience in the sector, has helped the Barnwood Group post a 22 per cent increase in turnover. Barnwood Group CEO Simon Carey said posting revenues of £104million – up from £84.6million – was down to the firm’s half-century of experience in the difficult sector. The group, which employs nearly 250 staff, is increasingly known for its fit-out and interior work, as well as for constructing some of the county’s biggest building projects. In an increasingly tough market, Barnwood has continued to grow thanks to long-standing and excellent working relationships with Nationwide Building Society, H&M and others. An increase in the number of office fitting-out projects has also enabled year-on-year growth. He said: “You can attribute the rise in turnover to organic growth and the timing of a number of major projects that fell in the financial year. “These projects include the Schrodinger Building
at Science Park, Honeybourne Place in Cheltenham, the Gloucestershire College Campus in the Forest of Dean and Bakers Quay in Gloucester Docks. “However, a 30 per cent increase in retail and commercial interiors project played a major part." Oxford

They have also worked with customers as diverse as Cotswold FTSE-100 firm St James’s Place and Peppa PigWorld at Paultons Park in Hampshire. Locally, Barnwood has fitted-out Anthropologie on Cheltenham’s Promenade and the branch of Cotswold café and bakery chain Huffkins in the new John Lewis on the High Street. Airport fits have become something of a speciality,
