The popularity of pipe-swapping is no surprise, by fitting a new system you can have a lighter bike with better looks and performance. The very first thing to do when approaching exhaust removal is to get hold of some new exhaust heading gaskets so you can put the thing back together. A leaking exhaust port gasket will create a backfire on deceleration, and make a mess of the cylinder head / exhaust port area.
