WE ALL HAVE A VITAL ROLE TO PLAY

At Franklin Building Supply, we don’t just sell building materials — we build relationships, strengthen communities, and create opportunities. Our success is driven by more than just the products we supply; it’s a direct result of the daily hard work, dedication, and passion each of you brings to this company. That’s why I want to take a moment to talk about something that impacts all of us, how we strategically market Franklin Building Supply. Marketing isn’t just the job of a person or a department; it’s something we all contribute to, whether we realize it or not. Every interaction we have, whether it’s with a longtime customer, a potential new hire, a vendor, or even a neighbor asking about what we do, shapes how people see our company. That’s why it’s so important to carry ourselves with pride, speak positively about our work, and take advantage of the many opportunities we have to showcase Franklin Building Supply as the preferred dealer for every preferred customer. We host and participate in a wide range of events that allow us to strengthen relationships and reinforce our reputation. Customer golf tournaments, Vendor Days, Decking Days, vendor-sponsored customer trips, plant and innovation center tours, and trade shows — each event gives us a chance to connect with people, demonstrate our expertise, and show why we are the best at what we do. Additionally, our deep involvement in local and state building contractor associations keeps us at the forefront of our industry, with many of our employees even serving on association boards. These connections matter, and they help us continue to grow and thrive. But strategic marketing isn’t just about events; it’s about mindset. It’s about understanding that every employee plays a role in sales. For some, that role is direct, helping customers find the right products, solving challenges, and building trust through service. For others,

it’s more indirect, sharing our story when talking to potential employees, showing enthusiasm for what we do, and making Franklin Building Supply a place where people want to work and do business. When we positively talk about our company and show excitement for what we’re building together, we attract the right people — both as customers and as teammates.

Our reputation today isn’t accidental — it’s the result of years of hard work, commitment, and excellence. Each of you has played a role in making Franklin Building Supply what it is today, and for that, I am deeply grateful. Your dedication has put us in the position to be the trusted partner for so many in our industry. So, as we continue to grow, let’s all take pride in the role we play. Let’s keep sharing our story, supporting our events, and showing the world what makes Franklin Building Supply the best choice. Doing so strengthens our company, creates more opportunities, and ensures a bright future for us all. Thank you for everything you do. Your efforts build and maintain the reputation that makes Franklin Building Supply the trusted choice in our industry.

GUIDE From: Mike Taylor, Boise Finish To: Adam Hinshaw, TVID Interior

High Fives!

Adam Hinshaw was up at one of our jobs for Core Building in McCall and noticed a stack of construction doors leaning in the garage. He took it upon himself to give me a call to find out if he could save us a trip by picking them up. This absolutely saved the door shop time and labor. Thanks, Adam and the flooring team, for looking out! WOW From: Tyler Honn, Boise CSR To: Julianne Meehan, TVID Interior Wanted to give a high-five to Julianne. She just got the firm commitment from Ted Mason Signature Homes to sell most of what Design Innovation has to offer. She worked hard to impress the customer from pricing to showcasing the design center in a tour. She brings energy, experience, and good design work to the table, and it made an easy decision for Ted and his team. Great job Julianne! You’re awesome! STRIVE From: Danny Green, Pocatello To: Ivan Mendez, Pocatello Ivan Mendez, a longtime employee but one of our newer drivers, is quietly doing quality work every day. I am proud of my fellow co-owner and appreciate the work he does for our company. His processes and work habits are top notch, and those daily actions add up to make Franklin profitable. He is a great example of what it is to be an employee-owner.

EASY From: Gustavo Silva, Caldwell Window Dept To: John Thurman and Mark Romero, Caldwell Drivers

I received an email from a customer today highlighting the amazing service our window delivery drivers provided, including advice and information regarding installation. These guys do an amazing job every day, no matter the weather or the time. I am very proud to say we work next to these passionate employee-owners who strive to perform at the best possible level in our industry. SAFE From: Kale Black, Twin Falls To: Jay Tegethoff, Sierra Baker and Bryan Stuart, Twin Falls Our LVP area in the design center flooded, and Jay and Sierra were quick to help and work hard to get it is as dry and cleaned up as possible. Bryan went outside without hesitation to rearrange the sandbags to help slow the flooding and then came back into the store to see if there was anything else he could do to assist. Thank you so much to these three for their hard work and help. Strength in Teamwork How the Twin Falls Yard Is Thriving One of the greatest strengths of the Twin Falls yard at present is its teamwork. Under the leadership of Jeff Morgan as GM and Justin Osterhout as Yard Manager, a culture of collaboration has been cultivated, where every team member plays a crucial role in collective success. Justin says, “We communicate openly and share ideas, which helps us take on challenges together and come up with long- lasting solutions. It’s clear that everyone values our team’s success, and that commitment makes a big difference.” Recently, the yard faced a significant hurdle with downsizing and concerns arose regarding workload management with fewer resources. The team stepped up to the challenge. “We adapted by leveraging each person’s strengths and being more strategic with our time and resources. We were able to maintain our productivity without losing quality. It wasn’t easy, but our team handled it well,” Justin reports. The future appears promising as the Twin Falls yard sets its sights on achieving Blue Star status. The team is building a culture of continuous learning and improvement, with a strong focus on being tour-ready. The goal is to exceed expectations in every way and set the bar for excellence. A strong environment has been created where employee ownership is taken seriously, and safety is integrated into all aspects of operations — from daily tasks to new hire training. The approach is meant to empower employees at all levels and prioritize safety as a mindset and not just company policy.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions The yard has achieved remarkable accomplishments this year, thanks to the dedication of its team members, and Justin offered some solid shout-outs to his team: “Robert McCormick, Mitchel Montgomery, Trevor Abrams, and Erik Olsen have made significant strides in developing SOPs across various locations. Bryan Stewart has successfully completed several LEAN projects to enhance the drive-in customer experience. Zach Phillips spearheaded a new communication program between sales and dispatch, improving efficiency across teams. Juan Ruelas, Chris Hunt, and Tristan Benavidez exemplify true teamwork, always willing to step up and contribute wherever needed to ensure success. Chris Preece and Alex Phelps have streamlined the cabinet and flooring department, allowing them to absorb express deliveries into their schedules.” These efforts and achievements highlight the Twin Falls yard’s strength and commitment. Moving forward, the focus remains on setting new standards of excellence and ensuring the yard continues to lead in innovation, safety, and teamwork.

Where Safety Culture Feels REAL EMPLOYEE OWNERSHIP

I started my career at a trade school for heavy equipment maintenance and operations, which led me to work as an equipment operator in the oil fields. From there, I moved into general construction and spent a few years doing track maintenance with Union Pacific Railroad. Boy, do I have some stories ... Every job had its own safety culture — some stronger than others. In the oil fields, safety measures often felt reactive. When the White Hats hit the guard shack, everyone’s phones would start buzzing, and those were the only times we would shut down due to extreme heat. In commercial framing, safety visits were more about the free food than real engagement. Working for Franklin was an adjustment for me. I struggled with peer-to-peer correction, just trying to get ’er done. It all seemed genuine, so I embraced it and got on board.

I left Franklin briefly to work for a tower crane outfit, which took me to commercial job sites across the Northwest. One job led by an employee-owned general contractor stood out. It was the cleanest, most organized job site I had ever seen, and it made me miss Franklin. I missed peer-to- peer collaboration on safety and continuous improvement. I missed feeling safe! More than anything, I missed the culture — one that even customers can feel — which is why Franklin has earned the reputation of being “The Professional Framer’s” lumberyard. For those of us who’ve grown up blue collar, we know how good we have it as employee- owners, and we want to pass that along to new employees. We reinforce our culture when we take a picture of something that bugs us and share the improvement across the company. It’s great when a veteran driver taps a yard guy on the sly about

something silly in the yard, but we don’t have to hide that kind of culture from each other! We scan the QR codes, take pictures, share improvements, and participate openly and honestly in safety huddles. Let’s fully embrace the employee-ownership culture and make our work safer, easier, and more enjoyable as we work together to build a world-class safety culture.

We All Have a Vital Role to Play

High Fives! Teamwork Is Winning in Twin Falls Safety Culture Feels Real With EO April Birthdays and Anniversaries

Meet Dahlen — One of Our Best

AND WHY WE’RE LUCKY TO HAVE HIM Dahlen’s Dedication to Excellence

At Franklin Building Supply, we know great businesses are built on great people. We are incredibly fortunate to have a team filled with hardworking, kind, and fun individuals who support each other and put our customers first. Every day, they show up with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to delivering top- quality products and service. One of those amazing people is Dahlen Arens, our Exterior Door Production Lead at our Pocatello location. For the past two years, Dahlen has played an essential role in ensuring our customers receive high- quality exterior doors. But his job goes far beyond just building doors — he’s also responsible for training new employees and helping them develop the skills they need to succeed.

What makes Dahlen stand out is the energy and enthusiasm he brings to work each day. He’s always ready to tackle the day’s challenges with his team, and when asked what he enjoys most about his job, his answer was simple but meaningful: his kind and respectful team members and the opportunity to learn something new every day. That says a lot about the culture we’ve built at Franklin Building Supply. We support and push one another to grow, and we truly love coming to work. Outside of work, Dahlen’s world revolves around his wife and child, his biggest motivation. He takes safety seriously because, at the end of the day, the most important thing is going home to his family. When he’s not at work, you’ll likely find him camping, offroading, or

going on whatever adventure his child has planned for him. One fun fact about Dahlen? He’s never been to Disneyland! Maybe one day, we can convince him to take that trip! Dahlen, we are so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside you every day! You are one of many who keep Franklin Building Supply the very best for our customers.
