Franklin Building Supply - March 2025

GUIDE From: Mike Taylor, Boise Finish To: Adam Hinshaw, TVID Interior

High Fives!

Adam Hinshaw was up at one of our jobs for Core Building in McCall and noticed a stack of construction doors leaning in the garage. He took it upon himself to give me a call to find out if he could save us a trip by picking them up. This absolutely saved the door shop time and labor. Thanks, Adam and the flooring team, for looking out! WOW From: Tyler Honn, Boise CSR To: Julianne Meehan, TVID Interior Wanted to give a high-five to Julianne. She just got the firm commitment from Ted Mason Signature Homes to sell most of what Design Innovation has to offer. She worked hard to impress the customer from pricing to showcasing the design center in a tour. She brings energy, experience, and good design work to the table, and it made an easy decision for Ted and his team. Great job Julianne! You’re awesome! STRIVE From: Danny Green, Pocatello To: Ivan Mendez, Pocatello Ivan Mendez, a longtime employee but one of our newer drivers, is quietly doing quality work every day. I am proud of my fellow co-owner and appreciate the work he does for our company. His processes and work habits are top notch, and those daily actions add up to make Franklin profitable. He is a great example of what it is to be an employee-owner.

EASY From: Gustavo Silva, Caldwell Window Dept To: John Thurman and Mark Romero, Caldwell Drivers

I received an email from a customer today highlighting the amazing service our window delivery drivers provided, including advice and information regarding installation. These guys do an amazing job every day, no matter the weather or the time. I am very proud to say we work next to these passionate employee-owners who strive to perform at the best possible level in our industry. SAFE From: Kale Black, Twin Falls To: Jay Tegethoff, Sierra Baker and Bryan Stuart, Twin Falls Our LVP area in the design center flooded, and Jay and Sierra were quick to help and work hard to get it is as dry and cleaned up as possible. Bryan went outside without hesitation to rearrange the sandbags to help slow the flooding and then came back into the store to see if there was anything else he could do to assist. Thank you so much to these three for their hard work and help. Strength in Teamwork How the Twin Falls Yard Is Thriving One of the greatest strengths of the Twin Falls yard at present is its teamwork. Under the leadership of Jeff Morgan as GM and Justin Osterhout as Yard Manager, a culture of collaboration has been cultivated, where every team member plays a crucial role in collective success. Justin says, “We communicate openly and share ideas, which helps us take on challenges together and come up with long- lasting solutions. It’s clear that everyone values our team’s success, and that commitment makes a big difference.” Recently, the yard faced a significant hurdle with downsizing and concerns arose regarding workload management with fewer resources. The team stepped up to the challenge. “We adapted by leveraging each person’s strengths and being more strategic with our time and resources. We were able to maintain our productivity without losing quality. It wasn’t easy, but our team handled it well,” Justin reports. The future appears promising as the Twin Falls yard sets its sights on achieving Blue Star status. The team is building a culture of continuous learning and improvement, with a strong focus on being tour-ready. The goal is to exceed expectations in every way and set the bar for excellence. A strong environment has been created where employee ownership is taken seriously, and safety is integrated into all aspects of operations — from daily tasks to new hire training. The approach is meant to empower employees at all levels and prioritize safety as a mindset and not just company policy.

Recognizing Outstanding Contributions The yard has achieved remarkable accomplishments this year, thanks to the dedication of its team members, and Justin offered some solid shout-outs to his team: “Robert McCormick, Mitchel Montgomery, Trevor Abrams, and Erik Olsen have made significant strides in developing SOPs across various locations. Bryan Stewart has successfully completed several LEAN projects to enhance the drive-in customer experience. Zach Phillips spearheaded a new communication program between sales and dispatch, improving efficiency across teams. Juan Ruelas, Chris Hunt, and Tristan Benavidez exemplify true teamwork, always willing to step up and contribute wherever needed to ensure success. Chris Preece and Alex Phelps have streamlined the cabinet and flooring department, allowing them to absorb express deliveries into their schedules.” These efforts and achievements highlight the Twin Falls yard’s strength and commitment. Moving forward, the focus remains on setting new standards of excellence and ensuring the yard continues to lead in innovation, safety, and teamwork.
