Save 10, 20, and Even 30 Percent off Your Grocery Bill in June Looking ahead, I wanted to give you a heads-up that we are going to begin another 10 percent

Every time you spend $300 in our store, your cashier will give you another 10 percent off coupon. You can earn up to three of these coupons to get 30 percent off your groceries! They saved over $250 with this one promotion. Our wish is that you can take advantage of this promotion in a similar way. Great Low Prices on Barbecue and Warm-Weather Items We finally have some warmer weather. Old Man Winter seemed to just keep coming back this year, so I am sure you are enjoying the sun and warmer temperatures. To say that Elisha, of our Super Foodtown of Harlem store, is a spark plug would be an understatement. The energy she brings inspires joy in our customers and teammates. Her positive attitude brings out the best in people. She’s always eager to help and will do whatever it takes to give her customers an unforgettable experience. But if you ask her, it’s the customers that give her this experience. “Every walk of life is here in Harlem. It’s amazing getting to work with my customers,” she says. Harlem is a beautiful place and provides an unforgettable backdrop for our Super Foodtown store. Such an impressive store deserves beautiful people, which is precisely what Elisha brings to our customers every day. She is a leader and cares immensely about her staff. When asked about her leadership style, Elisha explained one fundamental concept that permeates her entire philosophy: “I don’t ask anyone to do something I wouldn’t do myself.” This idea has gained Elisha credibility and respect from her team, but they have to keep up with her “aggressive, loving, and hardworking” attitude, as she puts it. There is no doubt she’s an extremely hardworking team member, but if you ask her, she loves the hustle and bustle at Super Foodtown. “I’m glad I’m at a busy store," she says. "It’s hectic here sometimes, but that means there’s always something to do, and that’s the best part for me.” Elisha humbly credits Super Foodtown’s culture for a lot of her success. “There’s a family environment here, and it goes both ways: my owners over me and my employees under me. We’re family.” WHO’S ELISHA? Harlem’s Bona Fide Rock Star Manager

make happier stores. When Super Foodtown acquired the Bradhurst / Harlem store after Pathmark went out of business, this was the exact culture we wanted to create, and Elisha verifies it’s being lived out every day. “When Super Foodtown bought the store, it was the best thing that could’ve happened." Stop on by the Super Foodtown of Harlem store today and say hi. If you don’t know who Elisha is, just look for the person beaming with positivity.

Shelf Life and Storage for Your Morning Brew Does Coffee Go Bad? Coffee: The sweet, sweet nectar that sustains life for many Americans. There’s nothing quite like waking up in the morning and starting off your day with a fresh cup of joe. The distinct aroma, the captivating sight of a clean pour, and the first sip on a cold morning provide the perfect moment of serenity before starting the chaos of the day — that is, unless your coffee has gone bad. In that case, your morning may look less like a Folgers commercial and more like a horror movie. Learn how to tell if your coffee has gone bad and how to properly store it.

Storage: The second you break the airtight seal on a new package of coffee, you’re beginning a race against time. Coffee is usually packaged with nitrogen to delay the effects of spoilage, but the more often you expose it to oxygen, the more freshness you lose. We recommend always storing your coffee in an airtight container to limit exposure. While keeping it in the freezer will help extend its lifespan, it does alter the flavor profile of the coffee. We recommend only storing your coffee in the freezer in a pinch.

Coffee Beans: To extend the life of your coffee, it’s best to keep it in whole-bean form. The shelf life of whole-bean coffee in your pantry is generally about six months. Ground Coffee: Because ground coffee has more surface area, it usually only lasts about three months in storage. This goes for all roasts, including decaf. K-Cups: The wild card in this equation is single-serve coffee. These pods are sealed with nitrogen and

can last well beyond the printed date. You will still have freshness concerns, but from a storage perspective, these last the longest — about three months after the expiration date. Even if your coffee has gone bad, that doesn’t mean it’s completely useless. You can still use it in mulch, cleaning, and nasal cleansing. Foodtown is proud to offer a dynamic selection of coffee in all forms, making our stores your go-to destinations for your morning brew. Swing by today and find out for yourself!

Having your kids plan dinner and letting them grab items off the shelf will keep them engaged and expand their horizons with food altogether. Make It a Game In some cases, playing a game like “If you don't touch the cart, you’re in hot lava,” or even seeing who can find a specific ingredient or color on a label, will keep them out of the way of others and let you get your items. 1. View The Weekly Flyer On Your Computer At Foodtown.com This is the starting point each week to begin building your shopping list. Find the items that you like to eat and find out if they’re on sale . If they are, click on them. The system creates a “shopping list” that can be printed or transmitted right to our personal shoppers. That’s right — we can actually shop for you!

2. Show ONLY Sale Items On The Website

Select or search any category or set of items on our website, then click the check box that says ON SALE . This will show you just the items that are on sale for that category or department. This is a great way to search for things on our site and find the lowest- priced items. You can also change your search to sort the list by LOWEST-PRICED ITEMS FIRST .

3. Use Digital Coupons Every week, we have dozens of items called “digital coupons” on our website. The manufacturers have given us this money to pass on to you to help you save more. Simply click these digital coupons and add them to your club card account. When you purchase them in the store or online, the discounts will be applied to your bill. Our website has tons of cool features, but using it to help you save money is a great starting point. We suggest that you take 5 minutes every week to go through the above 3-point checklist. Remember, once you’ve built a shopping list, you can print it out, or we can shop your order — and most locations can have it delivered. Pickup is also available.
