ELECTRICAL Terminals 1
TERMINALS — SOLDER SHRINK
A. Heat activated, color coded nylon insulation shrinks around wire to seal out moisture and provide extra strength to the connection. Tubing Military Spec. No. MIL-I-23053/4, Class 1 AMS-3634. B. Extra-thick (.040”) tin plated copper terminals are corrosion resistant and durable in heavy duty applications. C. Fluxed solder core provides the ultimate link between wire and terminal, alleviating voltage drop. Solder Military Spec No. D. QQ557IE, MIL-S-14256. E. Finished repair has a temperature rating of -65° to 275°F. Solder-shrink terminals make the ‘Perfect Connection’. In one step, the user creates a moisture sealed, soldered connection that yields a wire pull-out strength of 150 lbs, as compared to 40 lbs for standard crimp-type terminals. Simple Installation Steps: 1. Strip the wire jacket approximately 3/8”. 2. Spread out individual wires to allow solder to flow between. 3. Insert wire(s) into terminal. With butt splices, ensure both wires “mesh” together at the solder point. 4. Apply heat to terminal, using a heat gun with a deflector shield for best results. 5. Repair is complete when the solder is melted. (Transparent shrink tubing allows for visual inspection.) Blue
