The most common electrode used today. Generally used for DC welding of steel and stainless steel and offers good overall performance. This tungsten has a low-level radiation hazard. Principally used on Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels, Nickel, Nickel Alloys, Titanium, Copper Alloys. 1.5% Lanthanated Tungsten Lanthanated tungsten is a popular substitute for 2% Thoriated tungsten. It offers good arc starting characteristics, longer life than 2% Thoriated, and no radiation hazard. It can be used for both AC and DC welding. Principally used on Carbon Steels, Stainless Steels, Nickel, Nickel Alloys, Titanium, Copper Alloys.
