PimaCare at Home

Staying healthy to stay home!

Raskob-Paulus Caregiver Skills Lab

Summer is upon us and we are beginning to see an increase in events and outdoor activities. Establishing social connections is important, and we want to focus on helping you plan accordingly to be able to join family, friends, or members within your community. We often see people not being able to participate in events due to lack of support or mobility. Many times, even though older adults can ambulate in their home safely, outside of their homes they may require some assistance. Examples of different levels of assistance can range from standby when walking around the park to needing help with wheelchair/belongings when going to a community event (or simply going outside to enjoy some fresh air). Sometimes due to needing any form of assistance, older adults will often choose to not do the activities because they feel embarrassed to ask for the help. This leads to deeper isolation for many. How can we help keep adults active and yet safe? Independence and safety are what we strive for and focus on at PimaCare at Home. We listen to the clients and families to capture the events and joys that most impact each individual while building a

care plan that meets their needs allowing them to remain independent in their own home safely. PimaCare at Home Direct Care Workers can aid with personal care, bathing, meal preparation, light housekeeping, medication reminders, medical accompaniment, and companionship. We urge adults to remain active and socialize even during those times when we might find ourselves in need of assistance. In May as we observe and commemorate Older Americans Month bringing awareness and life to aging, we encourage you to sign up for an event or choose a hobby out in the community. If you need some help in getting out there and enjoying yourself, we can help! Call us today for a free in-home assessment to create a care plan to meet your needs. (520) 305-3445

RASKOB - PAULUS CAREGIVER TRAINING SKILLS LAB

PimaCare at Home provides caregivers with training in our Raskob-Paulus Caregiver Skills Lab . Many times, people receive training in settings that do not resemble the actual work environment. Our skills lab is designed as a realistic home setting, providing a hands-on learning opportunity representative of what people may experience in their own homes. It is equipped with durable medical equipment (DME) and adaptive devices that can help people restore their independence, live with dignity, and remain safely in the comfort of their home. Using this skills lab and classroom, we provide caregivers with the highest quality of hands-on skills training combined with extensive caregiving knowledge, establishing a strong foundation for success for both the caregiver, their loved ones, and/or their future clients.
