Estes Ranch was establish in 1897 on the Texas/ Oklahoma state line near the commu- nities of Shinnery, Texas and Madge, Oklahoma. The ranch started out with commercial Herefords. Then in the 60’s we added Angus bulls to the operation for more hybrid vigor. Next, in 1978 we bought Simmental bulls to increase growth and maternal performance and started building our Simmental herd from the 1/2 blood cows. In 1981 the ranch pur- chased some purebred Simmental cows. Then in 1985 we purchased two 1/4 Simmental 3/4 Brahman bulls to start our Simbrah herd. Today we run 100 Fleckvieh and purebred Simmental cows and over 300 registered and commercial Simbrah cows. Throughout this period we have focused on developing a efficient low maintenance cow with excellent ud- der quality as well as a great set of feet and legs to cover rough terrain. Addi- tionally we have been collecting carcass data on our calves for over 20 years. We have proudly increased our calves from 60% choice to 98% or better in 2023. The cattle you see here today are a result of 6 generations genetic selection to pro- duce the best cattle possible and will be a great addition to anyone’s herd.
Wild Track Cattle was established in 2008 in East Texas around the town of Henderson, Texas. While our time in the actual production phase is short, we have produced a va- riety of high quality cattle. Our history in the Simmental cattle industry begins in 1985 when my Grandfather started purchasing Simmental bulls to run on his crossbred cows to improve weaning weights and to produce females to be kept in the herd. At Wild Track Cattle we try to Produce Simmental and Sim- mental influenced cattle that strive in all aspects of the world, as we run Simmen- tal and Brahman bulls on our Regis- tered and Commercial Cattle. We run 75 registered cattle and 100+ commercial cows. Majority of our Registered Sim- mental cattle go back to Buzzard Hollow Ranch and Estes Ranch Genetics. We strive to produce cattle that have the traits that we think are the most import- ant. We want cattle that are fertile, easy keeping and can produce in the pasture and feedlot.

Estes Ranch is offering a great opportunity of a pick of one the first two Top Gun calves ever put up for sale. Lot 1 and 2 are half-sisters and are a great example of what we have come to expect out of our Top Gun calves. Estes Lainey is only a June heifer and has outperformed all of her contemporaries since weaning. She is a long bodied, deep sided female that like all Top Gun calves is extremely sound. Estes Louise is the second of the two Top Gun heifers you will get to choose from. She is a powerful young female with excellent spring of rib. Furthermore she carries this in a functional feminine package. Heathers pedigree is slightly different she was purchased on the side of her dam by Wild Track and Estes Ranch this fall. She is a polled nondiluter that is extremely long and deep bodied. Her dam Bar 5 Heather 206D was purchased to enter our donor pasture. She is full South African genetics, Jacob and I believe that the South African cattle blended with German genetics have worked as good as any in our programs. Donor cow alert here. Estes Lexi should be in our keeper pen but we know it is important to offer our best. Lexi is a powerful polled nondilutor female that is just built right. She is out of a Little Creek Xpress daughter and granddaughter of the great MF MS Evan 21W cow that did such a great job for Dr Davis at Little Creek over the years. This female was originally going to be held as a bred but given her future we thought it might be best to allow the future owner to make the breeding selection of their choosing. This female is sired by the homozygous polled herd sire, Willow Oaks Juneau which now has become part of the breeding program at Deer Creek Farm in Alabama. Her dam, KFFC Brandy (B456) was carefully chosen as a donor from the Keith Franck dispersal a few years ago. This purchase has proven to have been a great addition to our program.
