We have started planning our end of year Town Hall which will be an opportunity to celebrate our achievements for 2017 and look ahead to how we are going to deliver quality IT services to our internal and external stakeholders in 2018. Look out for an invitation in your inbox soon. I have always acknowledged that as a Branch, we are scattered in many places across the city and this is why I encourage you to attend our end of year Town Hall. One of my goals since joining RMS has been to increase collaboration and introducing Slack, Branch Bytes and now The Big Byte have also allowed us to make strides in this area.

Since we started using Slack in June this year, we have sent almost 60,000 messages and uploaded more than 1,000 files between all of us. This shows to me that Slack is increasing our collaboration and helping eliminate the need for endless emails with colleagues needlessly copied in. Thank you again for your support of Slack . Finally, a reminder to you all that it is National Safe Work Month . One accident is always one too many in the workplace and I encourage you to refresh your memory of our best work, health and safety practices and view the video message from our Chief Executive Ken Kanofski .

Enjoy this first edition of The Big Byte .
