GROHE’S EURO AND ESSENCE CERAMIC RANGES BRING PRACTICAL FUNCTIONALITY AND CONSIDERED DESIGN TOGETHER, SAYS SEAMUS KELLY, LEADER, IRELAND, LIXIL EMNA & GROHE… The changing face of bathroom ceramics
As demands on bathroom professionals continue to evolve, ceramic fittings are being designed to deliver more than aesthetics alone. Ease of installation, hygiene, maintenance and manufacturing precision are becoming important considerations, as installers and specifiers seek solutions that combine performance with design. The latest developments across GROHE’s Euro and Essence ceramic ranges reflect this broader shift, bringing practical functionality and considered design together. For installers, efficiency is an important consideration, particularly as projects face increasing pressure around time and labour. The updated GROHE Euro Ceramic range addresses this with its Advanced Mounting Technology, a top mounted fixation system for its wall-hung WC that enables easy installation by one person in as little as 20 minutes, without the need for special tools. The WC is fixed
from above via the seat fixation holes, helping to simplify installation while maintaining a smooth, clean external finish. The Euro range also considers what happens once installation is complete. Its rimless WC design, quick release seat and GROHE HyperClean antibacterial glazing are designed to support easier maintenance and improved hygiene, while the triple Vortex flush technology provides a powerful yet quiet flush. Together, these features bring greater functionality to an area of the bathroom where long term performance is just as important as initial appearance. At the same time, developments in ceramic manufacturing are opening up new possibilities for bathroom design. The recently expanded GROHE Essence range demonstrates this through more refined proportions and slender profiles, with new vessel and countertop basins featuring an ultra slim 5mm rim. The fine profile gives the basins a lighter, more contemporary appearance whilst highlighting the level of precision now achievable. Available in a variety of sizes and configurations, the new basins also incorporate GROHE AquaCeramic and HyperClean glazing, helping to repel dirt and limescale whilst supporting improved hygiene. Combined, the latest developments across Euro and Essence reflect the

evolving role of ceramics within the wider bathroom space. No longer purely functional, ceramics are increasingly contributing to the overall look and feel of a bathroom, while still needing to meet the practical demands of installation, maintenance and hygiene. For bathroom professionals, this places greater emphasis on solutions that combine design with performance, helping to create spaces that are both visually considered and fit for everyday use.
