HEAT PUMPS

SUPPLIED BY UNIPIPE IN IRELAND, NIBE S2060 IS AN AIR-TO-WATER HEAT PUMP DESIGNED AROUND THE INSTALLATION AS MUCH AS THE PERFORMANCE… Big performance in a compact package

The new NIBE S2060 is an air- to-water heat pump built around an R290 refrigerant circuit, with flow temperatures that suit both low-temperature systems and radiator retrofits. Supplied and supported in Ireland by Unipipe, it is designed around the installation as much as the performance: fewer restrictions on siting, nothing to add for frost protection and a heating pump that comes indoors. Performance first The S2060 has a SCOP of up to 5.33 on the 6kW and 5.07 on the 10kW, and both sizes carry an A+++ efficiency class at 35°C and at 55°C. It keeps working down to -25°C outdoors and delivers a supply temperature of up to 75°C when higher output is needed, so the same unit suits underfloor heating in a new build and radiators in a retrofit. An inverter- controlled compressor adjusts output to what the house needs. Siting decided by the house The S2060 uses R290 without restrictive protective zones, and its total footprint is 3.65sqm. Where the unit goes is decided by the property rather than clearance distances, which matters on sites where outdoor space is tight. It is Quiet Mark certified, with sound power from 51dB(A) on the 6kW. The BAU 50 wall bracket, with vibration dampers and a depth of665mm, gives another option where ground space is limited. Less to protect from frost The S2060 needs neither glycol nor antifreeze valves for freeze protection. That removes two common sources of added cost at installation and of ongoing maintenance for the homeowner. For condensate, the KVR 15 drain

Supported in Ireland NIBE has developed climate systems in Markaryd, Sweden since 1952. Unipipe has supplied and supported NIBE in Ireland for more than 26 years, with free installer training at Bray, technical support before and after the sale, and grant guidance. SEAI grants of up to €12,500 are available for a house. kit uses insulated pipework with a thermostat-controlled heating cable to keep ice from forming. The charge pump comes indoors The charge pump is not built into the outdoor unit. NIBE’s installer manual notes that it is powered and controlled from the indoor or control module, so it can be sited indoors out of the weather and is modulated by NIBE’s controls for efficiency. NIBE lists it in two capacity sizes, which gives more freedom in how a system is designed and keeps the outdoor unit smaller. Control after handover Paired with a NIBE S series indoor unit, the system manages heating, cooling and hot water together. Through the myUplink app, homeowners can monitor energy use, adjust settings and keep the system tailored to the house, wherever they are.
