Under-sink safety groups
As domestic hot water systems continue to evolve, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and easy to maintain is becoming increasingly important. Modern installations often require several components to protect both the water supply and the connected appliance, but accommodating these within limited under-sink space can be a challenge for installers. In many applications, excessive pressure, backflow and future maintenance access all need to be considered during installation. Without the correct protection in place, systems can be vulnerable to pressure-related faults, potential contamination risks and increased servicing complexity. This is where integrated under- sink safety groups can provide a practical solution. By combining multiple protection functions into one compact assembly, they help simplify installation while ensuring key system protection requirements are met. A compact solution for multiple protection requirements The 528716 Safety Group has been developed to simplify the installation of point-of-use water heaters and unvented appliances by combining multiple protection
functions within a single compact assembly. Manufactured from durable DZR brass, the unit incorporates a 6-bar pressure- reducing valve, single-check valve and integrated ball-isolation valve, reducing the need for multiple separate components beneath the sink. The pressure-reducing valve helps protect downstream equipment from excessive pressure, reducing the risk of damage to connected appliances and system components. At the same time, the integrated single check valve provides Fluid Category 2 protection against both backflow and back siphonage, helping safeguard the potable water supply in accordance with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations. Ease of maintenance is another key feature of the design. The integrated ball valve allows the water supply to be isolated directly at the unit, enabling quicker servicing and eliminating the need for a separate isolation valve elsewhere within the installation. Designed for high flow rates and minimal pressure loss, the 528716 supports reliable system performance while maintaining a compact footprint. Supplied with compression ends for use with R250 copper tube, it provides a
straightforward solution for installers looking to combine safety, compliance, and ease
of installation within a single product. Supporting safer
and simpler installations As under-sink installations continue to become more compact, products that combine multiple protection functions within a single assembly can help simplify both installation and maintenance. By integrating pressure relief, backflow prevention and isolation into one compact unit, the 528716 Safety Group provides a practical solution for protecting appliances, safeguarding water quality and supporting compliance within modern domestic water systems.
