RITAM SRBIJE / RHYTHM OF SERBIA

MEET BEAUTIFUL SERBIA Winter fairytale and the magic of Zlatibor Surrounded by the beauty of mountains, feel the return to the warmth of the homeland in Sirogojno, experience enduring harmony with nature, but also modern sporting activities and a panoramic view that exists nowhere else J ust a few hours’ drive from Belgrade, at the heart of western Serbia, stands a mountain with gold- en landscapes, clean air and unique energy. Thanks to a beneficial climate, due to the perfect combina- tion of mountain and coastal air, Zlatibor is a place that combines the spirit of tradition and modern comfort. Lo- cated at its centre are luxury hotels, rest areas, apartments, wellness facilities and spa centres, all of which coexist perfect- ly with rural homesteads and authentic local cuisine that’s re- nowned for its cured ham, curd cream, cheeses and homemade rakia brandy. Providing a special experience is the Gold Gondola, the world’s longest panoramic cable car, which connects the centre of Zlat- ibor with its highest peak of Tornik. A 25-minute ride carries you away from the hustle and bustle of the resort and allows you to indulge in the peace and tranquillity of Zlatibor’s land- scapes. During the gondola ride, which covers a distance of around nine kilometres, passengers can enjoy views over Lake Ribnica, forests and beautiful mountain glades. For lovers of

nature and active holidays, Zlatibor offers a network of hik- ing and mountain-biking trails, adrenaline parks, the Dino and Adventure Park, horse riding, exciting quad driving and zipline descents, skiing and numerous trips to attractions like Stopića Cave, Gostilje Waterfall, the museums of Sirogojno and the Western-themed park El Paso City... Just 19 kilometres from Zlatibor’s resort centre, deep in an area of untouched nature, you will find the Stopića Cave. It is made special by a waterfall that’s known as the “Source of Life” and which flows through the cave, but also cascading bathtub fea- tures — representing a real geomorphological rarity anywhere in Europe! A little further away, Gostilje represents one of the most significant symbols of Zlatibor. Here water falls thunder- ously 22 metres from a limestone cliff, creating a unique water- fall that’s among the tallest in Serbia. One story from bygone times claims that fairies bathe under the Gostilje Waterfall at night. It is believed that the fairies share an eternal bond of love, and all they have to do is pass through the stream of wa- ter. But, yeah, that’s not really for this time of year.
