The handknitted clothing of Sirogojno is today recognis- able due to scenic motifs and images of Zlatibor nature in rich colours that are usually embroidered on garments. Culinary enchantment Food also forms part of the cultural heritage of every nation. In cultivating traditional ways of preparing food, mountain taverns here offer their visitors daily cheese, curd cream, pro- sciutto-style ham, buckwheat pie, pogačica pastries made from black flour and other specialities for which Zlatibor is famous. For organised lunches and programme participants, the lunch spread will include roasted lamb, traditional baked beans, cab- bage rolls stuffed with lamb, various pies and “old village” cake. Traditionally served alongside these dishes are drinks like the vodnjika elixir, domestic herbal teas, rakia brandy etc. Winter sports The favourite activity of Zlatibor’s guests during the winter months is skiing, which they can enjoy at several locations. The Tornik Ski Resort offers five excellently groomed ski runs that satisfy various skiing likes and needs for everyone from novic- es to experienced skiers. This ski centre has a high capacity to host a large number of skiers, but also numerous other activi- ties like panoramic sightseeing by cable car, bobsled riding on rails and many other activities that will complement your win- ter adventure. You can take your first steps in skiing, but also more advanced strides in this sport, at the very heart of Zlatibor, at the Gold Mountain ski centre in the Obudojevica area, as well as at the Adventure Park, where you can also indulge in night skiing during certain times of the year. Thanks to the specific config- uration of Zlatibor’s plateaus, these areas are also suitable for Nordic skiing. The Tornik ski runs, as well as the Nordic skiing trail on the Tić Field, are arranged in accordance with Inter- national Ski Federation standards, making them suitable for hosting international competitions.

Standouts among the structures of the museum com- plex include the traditional Dinaric log cabin. The permanent exhibition consists of two Zlatibor homesteads, with residen- tial and commercial buildings that belonged to cooperatives of rural families during the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries. Apart from its popular open-air museum, Sirogojno is also home to the Knitter’s Museum, which preserves the memo- ry of this craft that has proven to be very important for the Zlatibor area. The craft of knitting has remained nurtured and preserved in the area to this day, and at the museum you can even purchase handknitted products that have truly been wo- ven with art and love. These products make the ideal gift or keepsake from your time on Zlatibor. The tradition of process- ing wool and using it to make clothes has been nurtured in the Zlatibor area for centuries.
