CAB has been a meeting place for art and the public, but also a centre of re- search and interpretation of the cultur- al history of the 20 th and 21 st centuries. The new exhibitions launched to mark this major jubilee open the public up to diverse perspectives on art and its movements. The exhibition Turning Points to Moder- nity: Art of Society 1900–1945, which will remain on display until 1 st March 2027, represents the first part of a new multiannual cycle through which Mo-

CAB will attempt to reevaluate the worth of its collection through three major exhibitions. With the inclusion of more than 400 works and 150 artists, this exhibition presents the development of art in Serbia and Yugoslavia during the first half of the 20 th century, in a dialogue with social, political and cultural changes. Visitors will have an opportunity to overview the key trends in the moderni- sation of art in a regional and international context. Through several thematic and chronological elements, this exhibi- tion monitors stylistic movements from symbolism, impression- ism and post-cubist expressions, via avant-garde experiments and constructivist practices, to various forms of realism and engaged art. The exhibition places special emphasis on the connection be- tween art and society, i.e. on the ways art reflects or comments on social reality, but also on the ways it participates actively in shaping society.
