40th Annual Les Belles Perles Debutante Cotillion - Ad Book

Remi Murrey is new to this year’s Les Belles Perles Debutante Cotillion. She is an Emmy-nominated news reporter at WEWS in Cleveland. Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Remi knew at a young age she would pursue a career in Broadcast Journalism, and she went on to pursue her dream. In 2018, she graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor with a degree in Communications Studies. She completed several internships and served on different student organizations, such as the Michigan Daily, to gain experience in the industry. Later that year, she received her start in broadcast journalism as a reporter at WLUC in Marquette, Michigan. There she earned a Michigan Association of Broadcaster’s Award for best news reporter in her market. After two years, she then went on to work as a general assignment reporter, morning reporter, and fill-in anchor in Flint, Michigan at Mid-Michigan Now, an NBC and Fox Affiliate. In 2022, Remi moved to Cleveland and since being in the city, Remi has built great connections within the community and even earned her first Emmy nomination. When Remi is not at work, she enjoys hanging with her friends and family, working out, and meeting new people. She is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the National Association of Black Journalists.
