40th Annual Les Belles Perles Debutante Cotillion - Ad Book

Debutante Miss Sandra Diane King S andra Diane King is the daughter of Kishaun T. King. She attends Akron Early College High School . Sandra is a member of the 3.0 Club, Delta Academy, Delta Gems, West Akron Track, Lenses Project Photography Apprenticeship, Girl Scouts, SWAG, Buchtel CLC Varsity Cross Country, Track and Field. Akron NAACP Youth Council, Mayoral Youth Leadership Institute, Truth Mime and Ministry, Law and Leadership Institute, Black Student Union, and the Akron Urban League Scholars Program. Her community involvement includes: serving as a volunteer at the Mychal Clayton Sickle Cell walk, African American Festival, NAACP events, West Akron Track, Camp Invention, First Serve, Akron Canton Food Bank, and Keep Akron Beautiful. Sandra enjoys running, swimming, reading, playing games, helping people, coaching, dancing, listening to music, traveling, playing the piano, the trumpet, and singing. When asked why she wanted to become a debutante, she replied, “I want to be a debutante because I'm really intrigued by the process of the cotillion. I really want to experience this tradition. My mom would always talk about how beautiful it is. After the process, I hope to become more socially aware and create long lasting connections.” In letters of recommendation, Sandra is described as a dedicated and exceptional student. She has developed strong relationships with her peers and staff at her school. She collaborates with other students and her interpersonal skills are her greatest asset. She is also an accomplished student athlete which makes her a well rounded and remarkable young woman. Upon graduation, Sandra plans to further her education and accomplish her dream of changing the world by investing in the youth. She plans to attend North Carolina Agricultural and Technical University and study criminology, sociology and social work.
