Not only a change in my community, but to those outside of my community as well. I believe that this is a very important event for me as a young African American woman to be introduced into society, serving as a role model to others. I would like to let them know that through hard work and dedication, many things are within reach. I often put the needs of others before myself, and providing leadership in service allows me to strive and help others. Becoming a debutante, offers the assistance of many strong, educated black women that continue to make impactful changes in all areas of the world in a variety of areas. These women come from similar backgrounds as I do and provide a strong foundation of support and guidance that encourages me on this journey of finding myself. I want to continue to be proactive with the support of many that are willing to help me reach my goal.” In letters of recommendation, Daryn is described as an excellent student and an active member of the community.
