Helps for the Children Psalms for Daily Living Psa. 15; 143: 8-10

"TRUE TO THE BIBLE" SUNDAY SCHOOL LITERATURE We offer the Best INTERNATIONAL UNIFORM SERIES

Memory Verse: “Remember his marvel lous works that he hath done; his won ders and the judgments of his mouth” (Psa. 105:5). (Review verses 1-4) The boys and girls who lived long ago in Bible times had many of the same problems, questions, joys, and tempta tions that Christian boys and girls have today. As you study another of David’s Psalms today, think of yourself as the one who asks the question in verse one and of God as answering you. David asked who was prepared to abide in God’s tabernacle and to dwell in His holy hill. As you read the list of an swers, pray that the Holy Spirit will search your heart and speak to you. Notice in verse 2, the words, “ speak- eth the truth in his heart.” Unless our hearts are truthful our lips cannot speak the truth. Verse 3 condemns arguing, “ sassing,” and “tattling.” Are you guilty of any of these? Perhaps you become discouraged when you read the list of things that are ex pected in the lives of those who love the Lord Jesus. In another one of his psalms, David tells us how to be able to please our Lord in every part of our lives (Psa. 143:8-10). David asked God to do sev eral things for him, and he told God why he should have these things. Be cause David trusted in God, he asked God to cause him to hear His loving kindness in the morning. Because David wor shiped God, he asked God to show him the way wherein he should walk. Be cause David belonged to God, he asked God to teach him to do His will and to lead him into the land of righteousness. Jewish children in Bible days used to learn many psalms. Their fathers taught them that they needed to live God’s way every day to prepare them for true worship in the temple. Some boys and girls act like Chris tians all day Sunday and then say and do the things that please Satan while they are at school or with their friends or their non-Christian families during the week. The Lord Jesus is seeking boys and girls who will honor Him in everything, all day, every day! Read each of the two psalms in to day’s lesson each morning this week before you start your day. Pray that the Holy Spirit will make you a Chris tian who is worthy to abide in God’s tab ernacle and to dwell in His holy hill. Send ! 1.00 with the names and addresses of 10 of your friends to whom sample copies of the King's Business will be promptly mailed.
