touring schools and completing applications to screened and per - forming/ visual arts schools, the Grade 8 High School Readiness program streamlines the process so that schools, students and families feel supported during a hectic and stressful time. The program meets twice per week up until December 1, the deadline for public high school applications. Then, it meets once per week and supports students through the early March period when they receive their admissions decisions. The program is about a great deal more than “just” getting the right applications done well. It is about using each student’s inter - ests and goals to drive their school selection process and support - ing growth in self - organization, self - advocacy and self - presentation. The end result is a student who is more aware of what they want from their high school experience and who can enter high school with excitement, passion and purpose.
THE GRADE 8 HIGH SCHOOL READINESS PROGRAM The program meets 25 times during the school year; meeting more frequently during the Fall application process and then meeting once per week through the an - nouncement of high school admissions.
