Russell Kahn (62-71), a member of the College Development Strategy Committee, broadcasts on BBC Radio London under his professional name, Russ Kane. Russ was formerly the ‘Flying Eye’ on Capital Radio with Chris Tarrant between 1984 and 2004. Russ also co-founded Non Stop Music Ltd and manages the UK girl band, Vanquish . In December 2014 architect Asif Khan (88-98) was shortlisted for the Guggenheim Helsinki Design Competition, which is the first open, international architectural competition to be organised by the Solomon R Guggenheim Foundation. The city of Helsinki has reserved a prominent waterfront site for a proposed museum. The site is located in the Eteläsatama, or South Harbour area, an urban space of great national

and cultural significance, close to the historic city centre and immediately visible to visitors arriving by sea. Asif is one of six shortlisted finalists and the winner will be announced in June 2015. Details of Asif’s work can be found online at www.asif-khan.com. Michael Lacy (68-74) is working with Shackleton 2015 LIVE!, which in October 2015 will undertake Shackleton’s (intended) crossing of Antarctica via the South Pole on foot. The group has created The Endurance Centenary Club for individuals and businesses to become members and lend their support to the expedition.
