PAVERS

Dash 5 generation spray paver Vögele has upgraded its special paver with the new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet, offering a spray width of up to 8,25 m, precise dosing of small quantities of emulsion and an optional heater for residual emulsion. Dash 5 technologies also deliver greater operating comfort, shorter setup times and increased automation.

incorporates Vögele’s new ErgoPlus 5 operating concept, designed to simplify operation and improve operator comfort. The driver’s console has been redesigned, with SprayJet functions more clearly integrated and the overall console height reduced to provide additional legroom. Additional storage space is also provided. A new SmartWheel allows precise control of the spray paver, while an optional touchscreen display provides access to existing and future digital functions. The emulsion tank features a high-resolution, high-contrast display, making operating data easier to read even in bright sunlight. Important SprayJet functions can also be accessed through displays on the screed consoles. For night-time operations, the optional Light Package Plus incorporates two LED spotlights into the roof and canopy. These illuminate the paver and screed area across the full paving width, helping to reduce setup times. A windshield is also available as an option. Automation and digital job-site intelli- gence The new spray paver supports a range of automation technologies for steering and grade control. Grade Assist, AutoTrac and Smart Pave help control profile paving, direction and paving width. Cloud-based Jobsite Intelligence solutions further extend the machine’s capabilities. Wirtgen Group Performance Tracker (WPT) Paving enables paving teams to collect and analyse relevant paving data, while the new RoadScan solution provides access to paving, temperature and paver data in real time. Together, these technologies provide greater visibility of the paving process and help crews optimise operations using job- site data. With the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet, Vögele has brought its specialist spray paver into the Dash 5 generation, combining greater application flexibility with precise emulsion dosing, improved operator comfort and increasingly automated paving processes. b

Wide range of applications Spray pavers apply bitumen emulsion and asphalt surface courses in a single pass, creating an optimal bond between layers while saving time, material and costs. With the new SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet, Vögele has expanded the capabilities of its special paver, providing greater application flexibility and new automation solutions. Like its predecessor, the machine can operate either as a conventional road paver or as a spray paver. In standard paving mode, it offers a paving width of up to 9,25 m, while its spray width reaches up to 8,25 m – 2,25 m more than the previous model. This allows contractors to use the machine for applications ranging from municipal roadworks to highway rehabilitation. The spray module features an insulated emulsion tank with a capacity of 2 100 l. An optional additional emulsion tank increases total capacity to 7 100 l. With an engine output of 129 kW and a laydown rate of up to 700 t/h, the SUPER 1800-5 X SprayJet combines high capacity with application flexibility. Precise spraying across the full width The machine is equipped with five spray bars positioned between, behind and alongside the crawler tracks. This arrangement enables

continuous emulsion application across different working widths. Two additional extensions allow the maximum spray width of 8,25 m to be achieved. The spray nozzles operate in pulsed mode at pressures of up to 3 bar and are available in sizes 07, 10 and 16, providing throughputs of 70%, 100% and 160%, respectively. Optimised calibration enables precise dosing across the entire spray width, including when applying small quantities. An optional additional heater keeps small quantities of emulsion – less than 300 l – at the required temperature until the end of a job. This allows residual emulsion to be used completely, even when spray rates are low and ambient temperatures are cold.
