N o one understands the importance of family time quite like the Harris family. For Holland Harris and her late husband Brian, what started out as a place for their family to enjoy each other turned into a business that allows space for other families to spend time together. In 2014, the Harris family longed for a quiet place to gather. A childhood friend of Brian’s informed them of some land in Glenwood, Arkansas, along the Caddo River that was for sale. Holland recalls the first time they visited the area and how hard it was for her to see what this area might develop into. However, Holland recalls, “When Brian walked the land for the first time, he immediately had a vision for the area and immediately forwarded the information to several of his friends and family!” “When we walked the land together, I remember the property being covered with trees and brush; you really couldn’t see anything,
as it wasn’t developed. You literally had to hike down to the river because there wasn’t a path clearing a way through brush.” She added, “I couldn’t see the vision of the final product, but he envisioned all its potential and realized once it was cleared out, what it would become.” Holland trusted Brian’s vision and loved the idea of building a space where their family could come together and detach from the hustle and bustle and spend time together. “It’s only an hour and a half from Texarkana, which made the decision to purchase much easier. This was really the only place Brian felt he could just really kick back, relax and detach,” Holland said. The Harris family enjoyed the close proximity to home, as well as to the city of Hot Springs. “You literally have the best of both worlds here. You can go to horse races or dig for diamonds in Murfreesboro or just kick back and hang out on the river, and you can even float. The cabins are located in a gated community
