You may be surprised that once onsite at the beautiful acres of Northern Lights RV Resort in Hamlin, Alberta, you have a choice to make: serviced or unserviced. Serviced sites have 20-30-amp power or choose unserviced with no electricity. No matter which you choose, you’ll still be camping within the Boreal Forest of Northern Alberta. Enjoy nature at its best with private, level sites able to accommodate any size and type of RV. You’ll enjoy an adjacent picnic table and fire ring. Gorgeous trees help maintain privacy and shade once set up on your site. There are centers with a variety of amenities and activities. The Aurora Hub is where you can meet friends and enjoy the barbecue picnic group shelter. Warm yourself near the group-style fire pit. In the Office Center, relax in the recliners and watch the big screen TV. It may even be time to take a dip into the hot tub. For the kids, there’s a playground. At Twilight Centre, use the above-ground swimming pool (summer only) and join in with member-only activities. The activities calendar includes outdoor games and activities such as horseshoe pits, Frisbee golf, axe
throwing, mini golf, a fairy garden, and “funny farm.”
You’ll never be bored with resort-planned live music, karaoke, crafting, and outdoor movies. The resort is a great place to use your ATV or side-by-side. In the wildlife and natural areas visit water features, bird watching, hiking and walking trails, and a surprise treat may be around every corner with berry bushes through the property. Looking for a fun day trip into Alberta’s countryside? The Smoky Lake Region is a beautiful area full of opportunities for outdoor recreation. The Woods Cree, a First Nations people, named "Smoking Lake" for the smoke from ceremonies performed on the shore; the name Smoky Lake may also be based on the mist that rises from the lake in great quantities at sundown.
