A Lady & Her Legs – A History of Women’s Shaving & Stockings Mount Vernon Hills Bank Community Room (720 First Ave SE)

Doris Montag, our local homespun historian and humorist, returns to Friends Club with “A Lady & Her Legs – A History of Women’s Shaving & Stockings,” from her series, The History of Ordinary Things . Montag will discuss traditionally hushed topics like the social pressures in women’s shaving across the centuries, the evolution of hosiery, and the inventors behind these

innovations. Garter belts, girdles, and more: There’s no need to blush as she chats about these fascinating artifacts and the stories they bring to life. Dames, gals, damsels, lassies, and even gentlemen: Don't miss this unique and completely ordinary presentation told in Montag’s own educational, entertaining, and lighthearted style! Register by Monday, March 17.

Participants from the audience can sign up to rotate onto a team. No prior trivia experience needed, team apparel is encouraged, and good sportsmanship is required. A lite ballpark lunch (think hotdogs, chips, and crackerjacks) will be served prior to the games. Register by Monday, March 24.
