Original poster for Mandela’s candidacy for President of South Africa, 1994. 1994 The poster used for Mandela’s historic run for the presidency of South Africa in 1994, where he was elected in a landslide as the first black president of the country, in the nation’s first election held with universal suffrage for all races, marking the end of apartheid. This poster was collected at the time by a South African looking to preserve such historic material, and here enters the market for the first time. This is the slightly smaller version of the poster, issued unbacked to be put up for display.
