Happy New Year's at the Schulz Museum

Jan. 8: Standup Wednesday—Open Mic in Downtown Santa Rosa Every Wednesday at the Barrel Proof Lounge, 501 Mendocino Ave. in Santa Rosa, comedians come from all across the Bay Area to test their skills. The laughs, hopefully, start at 7 p.m. and signups begin at 6 p.m. Attendees must be 21-plus and there is a two item minimum. For more information visit barrelprooflounge.com.

Dec. 13 to Jan. 7: Petaluma’s Inaugural Outdoor Skating Rink The City of Petaluma is installing its first outdoor ice- skating rink, Luma Ice, at the Sonoma-Marin Fairgrounds & Event Center, 175 Fairgrounds Drive in Petaluma. From Dec. 13 to Jan. 7 locals can commemorate the winter season and glide across the ice. Daily operating hours are from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with different time slots for skating sessions. Jan. 17: The Comedy of Isabel Hagan Stand-up comedian Isabel Hagan is coming to the Sebastiani Theatre, 476 First St. E. in Sonoma. On Jan. 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., Hagan will take the stage and showcase all her talents. Hagan doesn’t take the traditional route with stand-up as she has her BA and MA degrees in viola performance from Julliard School. Hagan’s standup combines elements of comedy with her violin skills—guests are in for an entertaining night. For more information visit sebastianitheatre.com .

Dec. 31: Happy New Year, Charlie Brown Celebrate the New Year as a family at Charles M. Schulz Museum, 2301 Hardies Lane in Santa Rosa. On Dec. 31 your little ones can participate in crafts, make a balloon Snoopy and watch Happy New Year, Charlie Brown! in the museum theater. There will be a balloon drop at noon and 3 p.m. for kiddos of all ages as well as a baby balloon drop for kids 4 and under. This event is covered with the purchase of a museum admission ticket.
