CHELAN RIVER (REACH 1) TRAIL LENGTH 3 MILES
LENGTH 9.5 MILES
This three-mile round-trip walk overlooks the Chelan Dam. It takes travelers from the Riverwalk Loop Trail, located in downtown Chelan, to the upper most section of the four-mile river that flows down to join the Columbia River at Chelan Falls.
Both challenging and easily accessible from Chelan, the Pot Peak Trail is a good option for hikers looking to get a good workout by shedding calories.
Drive: Approximately 30 minutes from downtown Chelan.
How to get there: Begins at Riverwalk Park Boat Launch.
How to get there: From Chelan, take Highway 97A south 4 miles to South Shore Road. Continue west on South Shore Road to 25-Mile Creek area. Take Shady Pass Road (FS #5900) to Slide Ridge Road (FS #8410). Park at Pot Peak Trailhead.
UPPER GORGE TRAILS LENGTH 2.5 - 5 MILES
Lake Chelanās newest trail system, the Upper Gorge Trail, gives adventurers a decent elevation gain and beautiful views.
RIVERWALK PARK LOOP TRAIL LENGTH 1 MILE
Drive: Approximately 3 minutes from downtown Chelan.
How to get there: From downtown Chelan, drive east on 97A, across the Dan Gordon Bridge. Take a left onto Farnham Street, follow the road as it turns into S. Sanders St., and then E. Iowa St. You will find the trailhead on your left.
This one-mile path loops between two bridges that span the Chelan River in Historic Downtown Chelan. Planet Walk: The Lake Chelan Planet Walk begins on the west side of the Dan Gordon Bridge. You will see the first Planet Walk sign (the Sun) as you approach the Riverwalk Trail. At just over 2.4 miles round-trip, the walk is approachable for those of most fitness levels. Wear a good pair of walking shoes, appropriate clothing, and bring a curious mind. How to get there: The trail is part of the park adjacent to the main business district of Chelan. Access points along the trail include Columbia at Woodin, Wapato at Emerson and Okanogan at Emerson.
BEEBE SPRINGS WILDLIFE AREA LENGTH 4.4 MILES
Visit Beebe Springs Wildlife Area for over 207 acres of outdoor adventure on the Columbia River shoreline. Take in the beauty and see extensive habitat restoration that will continue for several more years.
Drive: 5 minutes from Chelan.
How to get there: From Chelan, drive 3 miles east on Highway 150 to the junction with Highway 97. Head north on Highway 97 until you reach the parking lot.
