Using toughened 4mm glass, each piece is sized precisely tomatch Richard's original. Printing is done directly onto the back of the glass using a new state-of-the-art specialist printer that builds the colours in layers, with the ink cured by UV light. This type of curing keys the colours into the surface, and as they dry, they harden, ensuring permanence and durability. The next stage is to layer white ink carefully over the colours. When the image is then viewed from the front, the white acts as a 'solid' background for the colours, creating a depth and vibrancy that perfectly emulates Richard's original piece.

Each piece takes a considerable amount of time to print, as the printer
is deliberately operated at its slowest setting. This ensures the highest quality print resolution and enables double the normal amount of white ink to be layered on, making the colour as intense as possible.
