CULTURAL AWARENESS
April: Armenian Heritage Month
On April 24th, Armenians worldwide observe Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day, commemorating the victims of the 1915 Armenian Genocide, a public Memorial Day in Armenia and a day of remembrance for the Armenian diaspora worldwide. This day serves as a time for reflection, education, and remembrance of the Armenian Genocide and its impact.
May: Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month
The U.S. honors Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May, emphasizing the importance of cultural diversity and the contributions of immigrants, as noted by John F. Kennedy's reflection on immigration and the American ideal.
June: Pride Month
Pride Month is celebrated every June as a tribute to those who were involved in the Stonewall Riots. We’re getting ready to dust off our rainbow flags, douse ourselves in glitter, and go join in the fun.

San Fernando Valley: El Proyecto del Barrio
Provide health and human services in communities with underserved populations. They offer various services, such as four healthcare clinics, two employment centers, two preschool centers, and behavioral health services.
Santa Clarita Valley: Finally Family Home
Partners with youth aging out of foster care to help them overcome homelessness and human trafficking. Youth are empowered to build meaningful connections, achieve success, and make a positive impact.
Antelope Valley: LA County Department of Public Health Wellness Community Center
The AV Wellness Community Center offers a place for community members to gather, find resources, or participate in wellness activities. Support includes mental health, substance use, general health, and wellness resources.

San Fernando Valley: New Economics for Women
Provides assistance for families to achieve financial independence through workforce development programs, financial education and coaching, youth education, homeless prevention, pathways to home ownership, and more!
Santa Clarita Valley: Newhall Community Center
The mission of Newhall Community Center (NCC) is to enrich the community by connecting with residents and providing quality, structured programs, and activities.
Antelope Valley: Parents Anonymous
Offers free confidential support for parents, children, and youth to call, text, or live chat through the helpline from trained specialists—available in 240 languages, including American Sign Language (ASL). Also offers Online Weekly Parents Anonymous® Groups in both English and Spanish for Parents, Children & Youth statewide.

Immigration Resource for AAPI Community Asian Americans Advancing Justice
Asian Americans Advancing Justice Southern California (AJSOCAL) is the largest legal and civil rights organization for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPIs). They provide free legal assistance, engaging in impact litigation, and advocating for policy changes.
Autism Speaks
Looking for an interactive autism activity to keep busy with at home? Autism Speaks is dedicated to creating an inclusive world for all individuals with autism throughout their lifespan.
Persian New year-Nowruz March 20
Nowruz is the Persian New Year, celebrated on the spring equinox, marking the start of the year in the Iranian calendar. It’s a time of renewal, family gatherings, and cultural traditions, symbolizing rebirth, hope, and the arrival of spring. Nowruz is celebrated across many countries in Central Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.
