website Five of Pentacles is our card of the week and there is no masking the look of this card, these two figures have barriers, no doubt about it. They are passing by the stained glass window with the warm light shining through the pentacles. The window seems to be imploring “Come inside, it’s warm and there is a good meal and a warm bed waiting for you.” The five of pentacles speak of hardship yes but more importantly, it speaks of endurance and suggests that we are nearing the end of a long hard journey and there is rest and help near at hand. There are two figures in this card, that tells me that even though times are hard, we are not alone or the only one having to endure a tough situation. The sun can’t shine every day, in fact, it’s snowing in August on this card! Each of us faces challenges and some days they seem insurmountable. So what is the “gold” in this card you wonder? Well to borrow a line from Bruce Springsteen (again). “ I’ll wait for you, and should I fall behind wait for me.” Love grows deeper and stronger in times like this and there is your gold.
